could a 92 civic si hatchback with VTEC and air intake and 2 1/2 " exhaust , integra manifold. and racing spark plugs and wires. running on silver. beat a toyota camry, with 160 hp running on regular and alll stock. 2003 .. some guy wants me to race him this guy is in his mommy's car. do you guys think i can take him. ill put 100 bucks down on it. if we were to race it would first be acceleration and then on the highway. by the way my civic ic manual. his is auto,, and trust me I KNOW how to drive guys .

02' & 03' Camry's and Solaras had the 2az-fe engine which put out 157hp and had VVT-i.

I have an 03' Solara and it is definitely quicker than my 97' ex coupe.

i put 40 bucks down on it today, and i smoked him. he tried to shift his auto from first to second etc. i dont know what he did i think he left the overdrive on so , i took him off the line. semi powershifting. then i punched it in third he was pretty far behind me. on the highway he had a greater top speed we were going at about 150 and he started to pull ahead so i dropped it into 4th and punched it i was gone.. it was a DAmn close race though soo close. guess who is going to go spend 20 bucks on gas and the other 20 on proper spray paint for their interior today . lol

150 and you pulled ahead in 4th gear? Wrong, 130 is as high as 4th goes, not to mention the fact that your engine doesn't make enough torque to push it far past 100 without 5 miles of straight downhill highway.

I make over twice the power that you do, and my car still doesn't just "exceed" 120mph like it's a cake walk.

i wish it was mph i wish buddy, it is kmph. i live in toronto. and for second my car has a new tranny in it. the fastest my car has gone is 210 kmph. and my buddy who ssold me the car told me it took him a while to get too. when i pulled ahead in 4th gear it wasnt PULLING AHEAD FAST. but it did pull ahead, the car was at like 5,000 rpm when at 150 in fourth gear. i brought it up too 6,500 rpm aat about 165 170 and shifted in too fifth , sorry for the misunderstanding, but it was in kmph

Ok, I can kinda see it then. Sorry, I just hate kids who think their stock Civic pulls 150mph, didn't see anywhere that you lived in Toronto.

Back when my Civic was stock it used to absolutely die in 4th gear. 90-100 took me for fuggin ever. Now I can get up there pretty easily, but I don't like doing 120mph on the street, so I don't worry about it.
