i was wondering if after an intake, exhaust, headers and a new fule system, like rails, fuel pressure regulator, etc., if a vtec controller is a good buy. also does it help at all to lower the vtec engagement point b/c sum have said u LOSE power. thanks.

i have a 97 civic ex w/ the d16y8 (o yea) and the engagement point is 5,500. would i get more hp after the parts in my original post?

if i set the engagement to 4,500. sorry i forgot to type that.

i wouldnt move the vtec engagment further down unless the cam you are using will provide power in vtec at that low an rpm. going down maybe 2-300 rpms may help a little though with a stock cam. as far as it being a good buy i say yes. not only can you adjust vtec engagment but you can also adjust fuel delivery to a point.
