Just curious if anyone knows how to properly bypass the Avic N3 so dvds will play while driving. I put a toggle switch on the wire and grounded it so it would be a switch and that doesnt work. I am beginning to wonder if it can be bypasses due to the navigation. Any info will help. Thanks.

The avic N3 has a gyro built in so Evan if you do bypass the E-brake it will know when your driving , there's no easy way to do it the N2 had was the same way but you can jump the pin in the read and that bypassed it bit Pioneer found out how to bypass it so the only way to do it s to open the module " the brain " and unsolder the jack that holds the gyro in add a relay and then it works but one thing just remember that if the unit has to be warranted and Pio sees that they will VOID it - have fun

Thanks, looks like I am just screwed on driving with a video playing. So, I guess I didnt even need to bypass the damn thing then? If thats the case, I can use that toggle for something else. Thanks.

i have the n2 and i bypassed it with ease. flip your n3 over and there will be a silver sticker and peel that back. i heard on the n3s there is just a switch, so you will just have to flip the switch then you should be good. if its different let me know and i can help you out.

hmmm i'm not sure why pioneer would put that switch there , it wont serve them any technical benefit , but the older the unit is the easier it is to bypass but the avic N3 is new , so if it has the switch let me know as well

the reason why they threw a switch in it is because they sell these in england as well and there its legal to drive while watching movies in the car. they mass produce these and they don't want to make two models, so they put the switch there so its easier for the overseas people to bypass them.

i dont know if its true or not, but that is what i have been told
