Because that is a limited production purpose built track/street car and there are mass produced sports cars that kill that time. I actually think that the CTS-V pulls around the same time as that on the ring and it is mass produced, a 4 door, a cadillac, and has heated leather seats along with a 8 speaker surround sound system, nice ride quality, and a full navigation system.

There's an excuse for that. The ring is a high speed course and require high top end. The CTS was actually tuned and designed specifically for the ring.
