is there any difference between the SOHC and DOHC cam gears??

i think the dohc are a little bit smaller

just buy the correct cam gear

^ i think the reason he was telling you to get the correct one, is cause it came off that you had a cam gear for one type of engine and had the other type of engine and wanted to know if it would work... no need to jump down his throat, **** like that will get ya banned real fast.

i have a 1998 ford escort ZX2. i know the cam gears from a DOHC fit my cams, but i just want one adjustable gear so i was hoping the one from the SOHC would fit. anyone know if they are the same?

i dont think you should try swapping parts like this to a ford you should look at getting a ford cam gear for your car , i know some parts may work as i have a honda turbo manifold on my celica ,but a cam gear is just not something i would do , but hey that is just my 2 cents
