Default Turbo D vs EP3

Today was a record breaking day here in PA. Why, because today it was 70 degrees and sunny. Driving to work with the windows down in the middle of January is an awesome feeling, and I was determined to enjoy every 30 minutes of my treck to work.

As I was heading to the on ramp of the local highway I noticed a lowered black EP3 turn on just ahead of me. I followed him onto the highway, heading down 40mph in 3rd gear. As we both merged onto the highway I kept my foot on the floor, as did he. The N/A Si took off putting a few cars on me as I waited patiently for 3rd gear to spool, which wouldn't be till about 65mph. Within a few seconds boost was here, and I was making up ground quickly. I shifted into 4th gear, pedal on the floor, Greddy RS popping off into the mild day air and eating up ground on the EP3 who was still trying to get away. I let off proving my point, not really wanting to do terribly excessive speeds. The Si continued away, off into the distance. I thought that was that, but this little bugger wanted more.

Further down the highway I realized that the Si had slowed down considerably, going about 50 in the fast lane waiting for me to catch up. I passed him from the right lane and he quickly sped back up. I was doing about 65 or so, and the guy tried to get a running start. Why does no one ever want to race me legit... oh well.

The Si is coming up fast in my mirror, so I downshift to 3rd and stomp on it. Full boost comes in a brief moment, and I quickly matched his speed, and began pulling away again. I went for 4th and smacked the rev limiter. Que le' fark? How the hell did I miss 4th gear? I fumbled about like a virgin trying to unhook his first bra and finally smacked the shifter in to slot number 4. Once again, I waited for the car to reach full boost and off I went again. I put about 3 cars on him and merged into his lane as to avoid any oncoming traffic from the upcoming on ramp. 110mph came and I decided enough was enough. The driver of the Si and his passenger pulled up next to me on my right, gave me the peace sign which I returned with a smile and a nod, and then fell back behind me following me into town.

We tried exchanging setups while driving, but you couldn't hear **** over both of our exhausts. We ended up catching a light.

Si - "Yo man, so what engine is in that thing?"
Me - "Stock Dseries, nothing special."
Si - "Wow really, that thing is really nice. What's done to the engine, header, exhaust?"
Me - "Nah, turbo. "
Si - "Holy **** no way, do you have a front mount!?"
Me - "Haha, yeah, it takes up my whole grill you can't miss it!"
Si - "Oh damn, I didn't see it. What kit is it?"
Me - "Custom, I put it together myself."
Si - "Really, so do you want to go from a stop this time?"
Me - *Looking ahead* "This really isn't the light to do it from, but I'll go to 80."
Si - "Ok, sweet, on green then."

We both looked up, and ****, it's already green lol. So both of us punched it hard, First gear was interesting, he was slightly ahead with the Si performing better N/A, but as soon as 7psi came it was a whole other story. The Toyo's mentioned their disgust with small chirps as they momentarily lost their grip on the asphalt. I knocked it into 2nd at 7400rpms and the Toyo's just gave up. Most of 2nd was squawking tires from both cars but it was enough traction to put a complete car on the poor Si. With that I let off, no sense in speeding excessively through town.

The Si driver and his passenger both gave me a thumbs up as they drove by, and I ended my journey to work with a smile. The Si was lowered, had at least I/H/E and possibly even a set of cams. Someone at my work knows who he is, so I'll have to find out what the whole setup is from him later. =)

I'm surprised he didn't see the frount mount, I mean... it's only 32" wide. :P

Hope everyone enjoyed. =)

I know you didn't just say that. [:@]

I enjoy the mild summers up here, but I sure don't like the potholes that come with it.
