So i'm just about sick of looking at the Civic lately. Its gettin way too ricey for my liking, and theres sooo muchi wanna do to it but dont have the money, so here is a plan on whats going to happen in future months.

Heres the Civic right now:

So the decals. I got Alpine o nthe front, GReddy on the back, and DC on the gas door. Around the outside of my rims, it says Team Dynamics Racing also. Well i gotta crack in my windshield, so i have to replace it, and when i do i just wont get anotehr Alpine decal. One down.

My side mirrors are fake carbon fiber with LEDs on them. One of them is chipped cuz of my backing into my friends garbage can, so thats bad in itself, and the LEDs look rice too. So i'm lookin for the same stlye and color, with no LED's, and i used to be able to find them on ebay but cant anymore (can only find 92-95's with no LEDs) so if anyone can find that auction. So i'm going to take the DC logo off my gas door, and get a sheet of Carbon Fiber decal to put over my gas door. Thats anotehr decal down, and it will accent the mirrors.

Next spring when i put my rims back on, i'm going to take all the Dynamics Racing decals off and leave them totally white. That should look better as well.

Within the next few weeks i'm moving up from my fart can to a 2.5" catback exhaust with a highflow cat and Magnaflow Resonator. Keeping my ebay muffler, just re-doing the piping.

As far as my body kit goes, its for sale on the HCF classifieds and also will be posting it on ebay. I'm going to get a J-Spec front lip and Type-R grill, and should look somethin like this:

As soon as spring rolls around i'm getting some S-Techs to lower my car finally, and also installing my projectors. I'm not sure if that will un-rice my car, but when i do i'll remove my eyebrows as well. My projectors:

I had one of those AEM decals on the back of my old civic when I bought it. I used this tool to take it off that's used for removing inspection stickers from license plates... you couldn't tell looking at it that there was a sticker there before and there was no scratches on the glass. Although the outline would show everytime my window would fog up. Why don't you try that?

idk you had red/clear taillights, you should have left them on the whole time, and for the aftermarket taillights, just throw them away to prevent yourself from putting them back on.

Update #2: Skrapdoggydog is hooking me up with some M3 style Carbon Fiber replica mirrors. No LED andgood conidtion. Will look better then my ones i got now becasue i'll lose the ricey LED's, my left one is chipped, and my right side mirror is all warpedand it looks like a fisheye lens when you look into it haha

I also removed my DC emblem last night off my gas tank and sent out my money order for a sheet of Carbon Fiber decal. It'll be the same Carbon Fiber replica pattern as my mirrors, so it should look good.

Update #3

Ordered high-flow cat and got an appointment for next Monday at the exhaust shop. Bolting cat onto header, 2.5" mandrel bent piping all the back to the ebay muffler. Ordering the Magnaflow resontaor ASAP, will have it welded somewhere in the exhaust system.I'mcontent with the cat back w/o the res for the time being though. :)

BTW is there any difference where you weld the resonator in the exhaust sytem? (i.e. closer to the cat, right in the middle, closer to the muffler)

Got the carbon fiber decal sheet in the mail today and got right to putting it on :)removed the DC logo and putting the new decal on was real easy. Result:

alright, i'll give you a little hint, take off all decals including the carbon fiber looking material on your gas cover, don't put those carbon fiber looking m3 mirrors on, just get some stock ones and throw them on there, there's a list for starters

^ +1... and i'm not trying to bash or anything, but IMHO, theCF style mirrors are total rice, so is the gas door decal... Take those off and the vinyl across your doors and it will look a whole lot better... it's looking koo so far though, keep it up

well i was lookin at ebay and i found some black M3 mirrors wihtout LEDs. Definately not going stock, im really over the whole stock look, and i really like how the M3's look. And they do look better than Carbon Fiber Style.

naw man i'm leavin them. Honestly, i like them. With an exacto-knife or razor blade you can cut off the decal custom and peel it off. I think i'm going to do that on my passenger side to change it up a litlte bit, but i'm leaving them on. I know you guys are hatin on it, but i like them :)atleast i'm not gettin a wing though lol

well i didnt think so man, i only paid $30 for it and so i definately wasnt expecting it, just kinda surprsied me.

Bolting that high-flow cat up to my header, going 2.5" back to my Ebay muffler for the time being, but next week or the week after i'm ordering 18" or 22" Magnaflow resonator. So all custom with mandrel bends, should be about $160 altogether

So....2.25" back from a Spoon high-flow cat (thats bolted onto an ebay header) to my APC muffler. All mandrel bent, no resonator YET (gonna get a Magnaflow soon enough), but for the time being i'm not satisfied with it. The sound is still kind of raspy and not as low as i wish it was. I guess i was kind of setting myself up for that though with the crappy muffler and no res, but still disappointed nonetheless...

the camera has REALLY bad sound, its not really as raspy as the video makes it out to be

IMO Eyelids aren't ricey, i was actually gonna get some for my car, they would be the one thing i would say that you can keep and not be rice

Got Black M3 mirrors in the mail today and got right to putting them on. I wanted to do a DIY for it, but its literally just popping a plate off and then three screws. I got APC this time and not generic Ebay ones, and honestly theres a notiable difference in quality. The APC's have a little foam seal around them to prevent water from getting in (like it did in the carwash with my old ones [:@]), and the mirrors are tinted blue, real nice. Anyway, pics, and i'm glad to be rid of the fake Carbon Fiber and the LEDs, it also cleaned up alot of wiring going through my car by removing the LEDs.

I had vinyls on the back of my old civic when I bought it. It said some type of audio equipment name across the back window, I have this tool for removing inspection stickers from license plates that took it off nicely, surprisingly it didn't scratch the window... but when the window would fog up you could see the outline of where the vinyl used to be... I don't know about the ones on the side of your car.

on removing the vinyl try a blow dryer and then it still might leave the glue behind

Also try a rubber razorblade they should have them at your autozone.

haha holy sh*t as a side note i had a dream somebody took the vinyl off one of the sides of my car and it actaully looked good, then i went to the other side and just peeled it off with my fingernail and was stoked on it. haha is that a sign? (i'm not lying about the dream either)

^ now that's what i'm talking about, that's cool looking.(phew..(side graphics gone)) i like the rim choice and no one else has the jun lip so i go for it, it looks really good, after that, you should be pretty much done with the unricing and ready for ROTM :D

I also figured out i can just peel the vinyl off, its just ognna take a LONG time. Weekend project though :)

i used this grill stuff on ebay BUT my aftermarket oem STYLE front bumper must not be the same size opening cause the grill was alittle to large... i cut it down alittle BUT im just not happy with the looks of it and also the main grill still shows.... the seller said try the explorer grill to custom cut my own....

but i plan on cuting out my grill and puting the grill behind it and just epoxy it to the back of the bumper....



BUT with painting yourself... just be easy with the clear coat! if ya put it on to fast between coats or to heavy or the clear coat will cloud..... and start off with light coats....

also just scuff up the parts before ya paint.... should be fine ;)
my problem with geting my civic just right is it sbeen painted several times and im not sure WHAT color it realy is. na the lower one is preaty cheap... .BUT i dont like how it just zip ties onto the stock grill pieces... so im gonna buy thier larger one and cut out my lower grill.. cause you can still see behind it and see the stock grill piece :(

and i highly advise geting a OEM SI GRILL.... fit is PERFECT.... looks GREAT and is built tuff as well!!!!! those little type R grills well the one i got is cheap as hell!!!!!! its still laying on my floor... after geting it i was like F THIS POS!!!!!!! LOL


just keep an eye out on ebay for a used OEM SI grill.... i see em on thier from time to time... thats where i bought mine.. you can buy em used BUT they are like 100-150bucks for a full brand new oem grill..

tho i still wish i could get a billet grill ;) upper and lower grills... like my quick paintshop chop. LMFAO

Ordered 3 9.5" flexible blue LED strips from Oznium just now, doing addiction's custom gauges. Excited for this. Losing the white faces should make it look a little stealthier.

im trying to get some air suspension for my civic this summer... tho i think im just gonna get air cans to start off with and eventualy swap them out for some air struts when i finaly get enough cash for them!

took CF decal off gas door....i thought it mihgt look alright with the fake CF mirrors, but since those are gone i might as well get rid of that too.

they actually fit really well, the only problem was the driver side fender fit a little odd, probably going to adjust it. Other than that they fit really well and i'm really happy with them :)

Learn from my mistake.....DONT TAKE OFF YOUR NEEDELS!!!! nothing will work but the speedo, and maybey tach, but they will both be off....the temp and fuel gauges wont even stay once you brake them off.

yea, i took all mine off to put on ......reverse glow guages....[:'(][>:][X(](too many emotions) and now my speedo is 20mph off, and i have to rely on my trip OD to know how much fuel i have...and for any one that says you cant know how much MPG you get...F-off...i have relyed on multiplyinggallons offuel times 40 for over a year now and have yet to run out of gas....btw..im STILL looking for an ex or lx, or even a dx cluster...i should prolly put that in my sig.

o i know the needles will just snap off... i messed around with the gauges that i had modified... just to test it out cause i didnt need them anyways.LOL

but the way id TRY is to not pull them off BUT to cut off the outter needle parts.... that way the pin and main needles head.... then with some needles like from a truck like my old 95truck cause you can simply pull those needles ;) then with some hot glue glue them ontop of the stock needles head... ;)
ill just try a little dremel but again id want to buy another cheap cluster to attempt doing it to cause i dont want to mess up my milage guage! but if i got a cluster that was close i could just swap em over... or try the stock gauges and if they dont turn out just use the replacement gauge... either way it would just be a attempt.. it would have to look good on the extra gauges before id consider puting it in my car.........

I think i'm getting paid through PayPal for all of them, which means as soon as i get the money, I'm ordering the grill, lip, and new rims. :)

i bought a cheap type R grill and after geting it i said Fthis!!!! flimsy plastic with gutter guard mesh! not to mention not all the bolt holes are made on it! :(

i like the SIs more cause the backing is so deep.... and plastic so it can take some rocks with no problem!

the one i got has the thick plastic mesh on it like the SI grill. It was off of a personal auction, not the generic ebay auction with the univereal type-r picture, so i got to see the actual grill i was getting, hopefully it will work out :)

haha so last night me and 2 of my friends sepnt 2 hours making a 70" x 31" x 20" box in a freezing cold warehouse. It was an epic time and the bumper is getting shipped out today :DGot $150 shipped for it from Fiasco (his HCF username). Happy to finally get it off my hands and as soon as i got the money through PayPalibought my Jun lip from H-Motorsports.com for $105 shipped. Wanted to use StreetStyler.com, but Tyler (aryiman98civic)said something about shipping taking forever from that site, and it was also $15 cheaper on H-Motorsports.

Had to go for the Jun thoguh, i'm lovin it so much and ive never seen it on any other cars. Probably getting it professionaly painted rather than doing it myself, i got a friend that works at a body shop that painted my entire kit for $200 (that included all the sanding to make it look good too). Hopefully this little front lip won't cost anywhere close to that.

Also, my CADD teacher is letting my borrow his dremmel this weekend, so i'll have the custom LED gauges done as well :)

Next on the list is the S-Techs for my birthday (April 27th), installing my Type-R grill and eventually getting some new pedals. I'll keep ya updated ;)

did the custom LED gauges today :)took a few hours, barely needed to use the dremmel at all and i love them! Glad to get the white faces off and back to the stock black look, i really like how the black faces look, just not the yellow lights behind them. Anyway, i'll have some pictures up in a few hours of them lit up at night. Have them wired to their own siwtch for the time being, might just wire them into my running lights so they come on whenver i turn my lights on. Not sure how to "wire them into the board" like addiction and gin0o did, but i dont really care about it

Also got the Type-R grill in the mail today and got that right on there since i already had my car in the garage working on it. Fit like a charm, suprising for a $26 ebaygrill,really happy with the look though, picture:

Hey flip....while its in the garage...change that oil!!!!! thats what that red light means:D

Or you can say f-it and reset the thing with your key. I suggest changing your oil (obviously) unless that thing is off, and you didn't reset it when you got your oil changed last.

it hasnt changed back for like 3 or 4 oil changes now. How do you reset it with your key? And ik now i gotta CEL too, i'll take care of it lol :eek:

theres a slot next to the the speedometer near the bottom, you just stick your key into it and it resets:D. I def need to get better lights in my gauges there so dim at night, the last honda i had they were really bright wonder if it's age or something? Looks good man

Is your grille tightly in there? I got one off ebay that I just put on and it's tight on the top where the clips and pins are in. But there's nothing on the bottom of it holding it down...it flips up and down easily.

Ur all lucky to be able to spend money tricking out yer Civics. I have to sit here with a rope, a 2x4, and a hammer just to get mine looking semi-normal again. Then I got to go dumpster diving to get parts so I can drive it again...

When i would slow down the needle wouldnt move until i finally hit 94 and then it slowed down, kinda hard to explain, but i'm happy it works okay again :)(dont ask my how i know my needle goes over 94,i know i'mdumb) [&:]

alright, lip is here and on my car :Dfirst let me say something about fitment.....wow :Dcouldnt have fit better, just 3 bolts in each wheel well to the stock bumper and there was also a tab that fit over the lower grill of my bumper to hold it in place even better. Color matches me car perfectly, install honestly was like 15 minutes, and i love the look!

Also, S-Techs are gonna be here Friday, new tire will be here thursday (Kumho 205/40/17 from TireRack.com) so rims + lowered should be completed shortly

Fiasco's money has been refunded from the body kit (sorry bro), so i'm still stuck with the body kit in my shed, but maybe i'll find somebody local to buy it. Its too much to ship ($300+), wish me luck lol

I also fixed my burnt out projector, the harness was just loose, but i electrical taped it up good and clean looking and also zip tied a buncha wires out of the way to clean up the engine bay.

got GReddy counterweight shift knob and i love it! Looks good and makes shifts feel alot more solid

next up will be the spring compressors, then new pedals from the local Advanced AutoParts and then i imagine a triple pillar pod w/ tach, voltmeter and oil pressure gauge.

you can rent spring compressors for free from any parts store.

just put down a deposit, use the spring compressors, then return them, and get your deposit back.

nice tires, but i have to say i'm definitely finished with kumhos, they don't last at all compared to others, but they're nice for the price. i'm either getting michelin or yokohamas next. so what do the rims look like?

Khumo makes a bunch of different tires. Some of them actually get pretty good performance and tread wear. I used to know the link on hondatech to a review of all the different ones and how they compared, but i can't find it anymore.

And i also imagine the longer springs are for the rear and teh shorter springs are for the front since you want to drop the front a little bit more than the rear, right?

and i have a couple questions about the S-Techs installation, first of all it says to replace the top lock nut when installing the new springs, is this necesarry?

And it also has a chart about cutting the bump rubber on certain models. For my Civic, it says i needto do a "Type A" bump rubber cut. Anyone have any information about that? Heres the diagram of what it says i should do:

sorry, didn't see it at suspension, but just cut the two bottom "sections" out of the bumpstop, it's that easy.

just painted all the silver bolts that hold my lip kit on black so you cant see them, happy with that.

my dad is bringing my rim/tire into town tomorrow and getting it put on

also figured out that i can spend half of my graduation money on whatever i want (other half has to go in savings and for college), i'm getting $500 to cut a tree dwon and cut it into sections for a logging company, and that combined with working 3-4 days a week looks like i might have a turbo fund on the way.....but we'll see :)

so on my very first post on this thread i said i wanted to remove the decals around the outside of my rims that say Team Dynamics Racing. MXS recommended leaving them on because thats a good brand, but now that you can see these picutres, think i should still keep them on?

and for my rear bumper, do you guys think i should leave it stock or put my Buddy Club 2 back on? The height difference is actaully not even noticable of the BC2 vs. the stock side skirts, so it will look okay, but i'm not sure which one i will want more. What do you guys think?

I think you should keep the stock bumper, im my opinion it looks better......the rims i think u should take off the decal of motorsport becuase its all coming off and just repaint the whole rim white again.....or sell the on ebay and buy some black rims with polished lips like you had said before.

think if i put them on ebay with a $375 + shipping Buy It Now they'd sell?

I vote for the buddy club bumper. I thought the buddy club2 bumpers didnt have the diffusers molded in? I like the lettering on the wheels, but its too worn out and I agree that it has to go. You could just have the whole rim sandblasted and go raw aluminum ;p

what do you mean? Like cleaning them up n stuff? Yea i'd make them nice before putting them up for auction, and take all the tires off them too so i can use them on my new rims

They're the vertical fins that come off the bottom of the buddy club 2. (right?)

I also vote for the no-go on the kit bumper (keepin it stock) and also a no-go on the faded/worn red lettering on the rims.

If you want to sell em, go for it. you might get them to go for that price. They are a good company. If they don't go for that, keep em and sandblast them back to norm and sell them like that. That way they will definately go...people would just paint them up and slap them on.

haha i know, i had the red/clear tails the whole time, they came on my car, now i look at them and wonder what i was thinking, but i cnat say i regret my rice stage, we all learn from experience;):D

well right now i've got prom coming up, so i just want to get my rims back on so i'm not rolling up on steelies to prom haha after that i think they'll be up on ebay, cuz it'll prolly be a week or two process of taking the tires off, packaging the rims, shipping htem, ordering new ones, getting the new ones in the mail, putting my tires on and then getting them actaully on my car, and for the time being i just want to get rid of the steelies lol

and with my BC2, my muffler rubs a little bit, which is noisy and is bad for the bumper, although it never melted it last summer. Which reminds me about my ohter question i wanted to get opinions on

Magnaflow or Netami Twin Loop muffler? I cant stand the ebay fake CF fart can anymore, I really like how the twin loops sound, but they are about $50 more than a nice Magnaflow one. Opinions!!
