Default 88 civic Hatch 4speed std to 5speed hf

uhhhh.....well i have clutch problems and we have to replace the clutch system and its gunna involve taking out the transmission or what not and always had the idea of upgrading to a 5speed manual hf transmission...

is this even possible and if it is what would it involve...


any information apreciated.

you can swap it, just get the 5 spd clutch and flywheel. and it will bolt in with the same linkage.

and an hf tranny will have super long gearing and give slow acceleration, but good highway mpgs

i would recommend an si 5 spd. better gearing for acceleration

ok thanks for the info, but plans have changed and I just have to get the clutch replaced, does anyone know how much that costs?
