Default Will a tranny for a Y8 engine fit on a Z6 engine?

I have a 94 Civic EX and I am looking for a used transmission. I found one but it is out of a 96-00 EX with a D16Y8 engine. I called the guy at Honda and he said that the tranny won't fit on my 94 EX because the rear mount has a different size bolt. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this or what I would have to do to make it fit?

Yes, either will work. the 92-00 civics (except the 99-00SI) All have D series engines, and the trannys will all bolt up.

The Honda guys said that the tranny will bolt on to the engine but there will be a problem with the rear bracket. He said the 96-00 bracket is smaller and uses a different size bolt than the 92-95.
