but on a side note.... a SI civic can beat some cars.... but a standard sohc even with the vtec cannt beat to much.... but one thing they can always beat.... is the long run haul ;)
my fullsize truck can kill my civic very easily but easily sucks twice the gas...LOL

Buddy of mine has a 97 ek hatch with a k20 Type R stock with an i/e and it ''owned '' a 2005 porsche boxter 5spd pretty easy which is was one of my buddys as well and he can drive it, also owned a 2006 GTP 6spd easily, as well as a fully built 2001 civic SI turbo'd running 12lbs of boost. That was his closest race was the civic, they were both running street tires = no traction and the k20 got him by .876 of a second at the track on 1/8th mile track (thats all we have around here) it sucks.  And they were all video taped so the dudes that don't believe me that my buddies k20 beat those cars can screw off. b/c yeah most ppl in my town dont believe any of that either untill they saw the vid. which i don't have so dont ask. He has it and moved to Iowa 2 months ago.

^He was asking if this was true.

no i didnt beat it one of my buddies did, he's got a k20 type R in a ek vx hatch (lightest hatch) im pretty sure the vx model is. and it's pretty much gutted besides the dash and the front/rear seats. But do keep in mind the boxter isn't that fast (v6) and for the ek it can't keep traction at all on street tires so we had myself, the driver, and 2 friends in it just to weigh it down a little or else it spins 4 gears. From the line of course the boxter had him b/c of tq. but that only lasted thru half of 1st gear and dude left the Porsche very easily even w/5 ppl in the car (including driver).

a bolt on k20 hatch that is gutted with just seats in it is good for a high 12 second car that will with suspension mods can hold 1+g  on a skidpad.
