I just bought a complete engine swap for my EG and I'm not really sure what the tranny is but I'm PRETTY SURE that it's a YS1 tranny. From what my friend is telling me it's better than the type r tranny ? Is this true ? Its cable so I was wondering if I should just stick with this tranny and do a conversion or should I just use that money to get another tranny ?

the ys1 casing comes in the 92-93 integra ls and gsr........neither are better than an itr tranny.  sell the tranny and find yourself a b16 transmission or even a gsr hydro tranny. itr if you can afford it but i would shy away from the ls unless you have no choice.

i have a YS-1 tranny in my car that was converted from cable to hydralic and i think it sucks. the gears are way too short for me especially since i'm running a turbo. get a different tranny like
finalimpact said. itr are the best but pricey.
