Default when to launch??

i raced my friends eclipse and we came out pretty even, just curious when i glaunch from 1st gear, what is the proper rpms to rev to and pop the clutch in which i will get the best speed out off??? should i rev at 5k and do a burnot or something like 3800 rpms??

When you spin your tired you just sit there. What you wanna do it hook up quick. So avoid spinning. Churping is fine, and wheel hop is expected but yeah. Id say not to rev to 5k and dump your clutch.

dude u never want to do a burnout unless you have slicks. burnouts = street tire rubber gone = worse traction = u lose!

the best launch rpm is figured out by trial and error. you need to expiriment at diferent rpm to find out what works best for you and your car.

and buring out with slicks is a broken cv waiting to happen. you only burn out to heat up the tires to get better traction.

Ya these guys are right. Every car and driver will be different. My pretty much stock Civic EX launches best at around 3500-3800. It all depends on the HP, tires, road conditions, suspension mods, and so on. There really isnt a certain RPM you should launch from.

As others have said, you just have to expirement. If i launch anything above 2400rpms i will do nothing but burn rubber. Just give it a try!!

im running a d15b7, rite now im practically stock exclusing my racing clutch, i guess ill try it 2morrow!!!! illl et u guys noe the outcome
