I know this is not the best way to boost your engine but I was wondering, how many lbs of boost does the B16A, B18C, & D16Y engine can take with stock bottom end & drivetrain?

I dont know for sure, but that should be about right. NYC Civic 06-08-2004, 05:08 AM For which engine? I've heard that the B16A & the B18C can take boost very well even without building the drivetrain & bottom end. polo708 06-08-2004, 05:12 AM The b16... and 13lbs is pretty good IMO. My engine is pretty strong and I think it can only take like 10 or so for daily driving?? I dont know alot about the B18 with boost NYC Civic 06-08-2004, 05:14 AM What have you done to your Corolla? Do you boost the engine? You have the 1ZZ engine right on your car? polo708 06-08-2004, 05:21 AM Yeah the 1zz-fe with just the basics... AEM intake and pulleys, Tein Springs (2.5"), Hotchkis sway bars and Strut bar, TWM short shifter, and some cosmetics like 17" Motegis, grill, smoked tails, and badging. My supercharger should be here the first week of July along with my TRD exhaust. Then when I round up some more money I'm going to look into a header. Right now im running 15.8 in the 1/4 (off af a g-tech), the blower should get me in the hi 13's to low 14's. NYC Civic 06-08-2004, 05:30 AM Which company is making a supercharger for Corolla? Is it from TRD also? polo708 06-08-2004, 05:33 AM yeah its a TRD blower... I dont know of any other ones? Only turbos. green98lxsedan 06-08-2004, 06:34 AM it will handle some boost no problem. ide blow the engine long b4 ide ever spray it. im sure the other guys are right on the amount of boost. NTX 06-08-2004, 03:32 PM If you think you might want to put a lot of boost on it, you should go ahead and build the bottom end. It'll save money in the long run. |
