Default My suspension is shot! please help.

Hi this is my first post, as im new here. I bought a 99 civic coupe about 2 months ago, Ive fitted her with some nice OZ 17"s and it has been lowered by the previous owner. Since having the car a nasty creaking sound has developed from the front springs. Ive had a look at the shocks i have and they are standard so i'm guessing the guy cut the springs which ive heard does no good whatsoever for the stock dampers as they were carefully chosen to deal with the original spring dimensions?

So what im here to ask is are there any 99 civic owners who've slammed their car onto 17"s and have managed to do a good job of it. If so what is the setup you've used and how much it'll hurt my wallet? any help would be greatly appreciated
