So....2.25" back from a Spoon high-flow cat (thats bolted onto an ebay header) to my APC muffler. All mandrel bent, no resonator YET (gonna get a Magnaflow soon enough), but for the time being i'm not satisfied with it. The sound is still kind of raspy and not as low as i wish it was. I guess i was kind of setting myself up for that though with the crappy muffler and no res, but still disappointed nonetheless...

well heres a driveby and a rev anyway [&:]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luNTqwRjDLE

the camera has REALLY bad sound, its not really as raspy as the video makes it out to be

Resonator may do the trick for the raspiness. Also could be the APC muffler. I'm not too sure on how well they're produced. I know from experience you get what you pay for with mufflers.

aside from the raspy sound at the higher RPM's,i wouldnt say its that bad....its far better than some ive heard, with that raspy sound on the entire RPM spectrum....hopfully the res will help u out

02-07-2007, 10:36 PM
yeah man, just stick with it...these things can be changed, also I was looking through your gallery and I really like that shift light, where did you get it and how much did you pay for it?

just off ebay man. It said it lit up blue and it actually lights up purple, but i think it looks sick either way. Just wire the three wires of it into 12V +, ground, and then into your tach. Its adjustable too, i have mine set really low for daily driving though

Get that resonator put on and u'll be fine. Mine sound kinda like that before with the MagnaFlow muffler, but gotten a resonator put on and the DC headers. Now its deep tone.
I'm going to change the MAGNAFLOW to an Apexi N1

Dude, what did you expect when using nothing but knock off parts and no resonator. I know not everyone can afford a top of line exhaust system, but at this rate you're going to end up spending more moeny in the long run than you would have if you'd just picked up a well priced catbasck (megan racing) and a high flow cat.

Really not trying to be a douche, but, you get what you pay for

i know Forty, i even said in my very first post thati set myself up for the sh*tty sound :eek:but maybe the Magnaflow res will do the trick, and what would you guys suggest for high quality muffler? Not lookin to spend $300 on a GReddy muffler, but something better than ebay maybe?

well i got Spoon instead of randoms, still got 2.25" piping, and as for the res and the muffler, i had a big old hole in my stock exhaust pipe so i needed the new piping ASAP. Didnt want to pay for the hole to get patched and then replace the piping in a few weeks anyway, so i cut corners and paid for it:eek:still gonna get the Magnaflow res, and the low priced GReddy muffler i was gonna get is no longer for sale, so i'm lookin for another low price one

Personally man, if i had of know what you were getting i would have warneds ya, APC may as well just rename their company to "ARC(American Rice Parts)" and Magnaflow exhaust for a Civic i think sounds like ass

FlipHKD720
02-08-2007, 07:24 PM
well driving it today sounds ALOT better. Either my ears have gotten used to the rice, or its getting "broken in" or something....idk, is it possible the pipes were all new or something and just needed to get used a little bit? Never heard of that, but is it a possbility?

hey flip,

this guy on H-T sells twin loop mufflers.

the brand is *SNL and they have to be imported. the seller's screen name is eskay.

He said in this post that he was going to try and import some more.

http://www.hondamarketplace.com/zerothread?id=1444528&page=22

i tried emailing him but he hasn't responded yet.

the muffler sounds GOOD, and the best part is that they only cost $75.

I'm gonna buy one if they guy ever gets some more.
