Oxygen sensor installation for a '98 Honda Civic DX
I need to replace my o2 sensor #2, the one behind the catback. How difficult would this be? I called an auto tech shop and they told me it is under one of the seats. I bought an o.e. Bosch o2 sensor, not the universal. To me it seems like all I have to do is unscrew the old sensor, disconnect the wire, screw in the new sensor, and connect the wire.

unplug the harness in the engine bay, remove (unscrew) the old sensor, screw the new one in, and replug the harness in. Real quick and easy, just hopefully your new o2 sensor is long enough (DX's have quite a reputation for needing an o2 simulator or needing to extend the o2 sensor wires, which is really not recommended)

if he's replacing it, it's okay to damage it, because he's throwing it away [8D]

And how would I get to it. Do I get under the car or do I get to it from inside the cabin? Just a quick question, I am probably going to go to Autozone and look at the Hayes Manual.

Thanks for the help guys. It was way easier than I thought. I did it during my lunch time. A shop was going to charge 32 dollars for this. What a rip off that would have been. I didn't know the cat war right next to the manifold.
