any ways im comin home from church a while ago at about 8 30 this fat guy in this chevy 1500 pulls up opposite of me at the intersection he starts flashin his lights at me so i turn right and squeel my tires as i accelerate, i guess this threatened him,.. so he follows me still flashin his lights in my rearview and i get off the highway and pull into a mexican restaraunt parkin lot he pulls up to me btw: i dont now this guy..so anyways he says im bout to kick your a$$ get out your car and i say "talk is cheap, and gas is expensive" being a complete retard this guy had no clue what i was talkin bout so i just asked him if he wanted to race he said it would be cool, so we got onto 300 and slowed to round 20 then hit it,.. needless to say after he PASSED ME in 2nd gear i saw that this truck was a factory 500 HP vette engine chevy or whatever theyre called srt or somethin or another but in the end i was runnina pound n a halfof boost and licked em'

so a chevy 1500 with a 500hp vette motor from the factory outran you and it had SRT on it? 1.) the only corvette with 500hp is the Z06, that motor isn't offered in ANY truck from the factory. 2.) the SRT is a dodge product, but you're kinda correct. it does have 500hp, but it's got a viper drivetrain, not a vette.
and some guy in said truck actually ran you down, threatning to kick you ass, but was ok just to race? 1.)someone in a SRT10 isn't going to waste time chasing a civic down to race. sorry guys, but that's the truth of the matter. they're usually snobby enough to think they're chit dont stink and aren't going to waste their time with a civic. 2.) sounds like you got out of your car in a semi-threatening manner and this guy still just wanted to race? i'm not buying it that easily. anytime i've chased someone down and threatened to kick their ass i wasn't secretly looking for a race. they did something to piss me off and i want spilled blood, not burnt rubber.
and let me get the rest of the story straight....you slowed to 20, then he started pulling on you, and then you passed him? was this after he let off the gas? cause i'm not seeing you outrunning a 500hp, low 13s truck.....1.5lbs of boost or not.
but it just struck me as funny that you know enough about chevy to know what a 1500 is and that you know enough about dodge to know the 500hpSRT line, but you dont know enough about them to be able to tell the difference in them??
and the fact he started out wanting to kick your ass (apparently out of the wild blue yonder) and he was ok with a race??
but do you know what it would take for a car to pass a 500hp vehicle that (let's say for a good argument)with a semi-skilled driver does the 1/4 in mid13s after it already has a big jump on them? i'd say you'd have to at least be a full second quicker to pull that off. and even at that rate you're not just gonna hit the gas and jump in front of them, you'd have to run them down.
story just sounds a little too far fetched to be believable
i know there are tons of variables to a street race, so it's possible you beat the SRT this one time, but dont expect the same results everytime you run across one. who knows what happened to him, could have run out of gas, let off the gas, truck might have died, etc.
You were boosted or he was? How would you know hes only running 1.5 psi? I hate to say it but. Theres no way a 4 door civic with minor boltons is going to beat a 500hp truck. BS
i'm pretty sure he meant the civic is boosted. if the truck had been boosted it would have been even uglier...even a measley 1 1/2 lbs on a viper motor = [sm=Awwww.gif]
i want to know what 1.5 psi will even do for ANY motor..more than likely nothing. you at least need 4-6lbs of boost just to even get HP gains..if not your prolly loosing HP with 1.5psi
