Default VTEC Head

I got a 1.5L non-vtec motor in my 1994 Civic LX Sedan. Could i just swap my head out for a VTEC head. How much HP would i make? How much would it cost? Could i do it my self. I'm a 1st year Auto student in high school (top of the class)

Injen, no, you need the ex manual ecu, but an lx has an auto, so Agent will need the auto ecu.
