Default whats your opinions?

Hey guys, im a absolute fan of the Vtec!! the concept is amazing and im considering buying a boosted honda integra type r ( fantastic handling )

Im after your opinons as me and my honda mates are in dispute...

Icurrently drive a considerably modified VW Polo G40 160bhp 130 torque, no LSD is installed

the topic in dispute is a petty 1, would a turbo charged honda VTI beat a 200 bhp polo G40? on a rolling start?

to be honest i think a boosted VTI will beat the polo on top speed and aerodynamics but through town and half mile runs im sure the polo would out perform the civic down to its leight weight chasis??

how much BHP does a boosted civic usually push? 190? 210?

also to get a comparison of g40 performance, my friends honda is a EK9 pushing 185 bhp and i manage to get a good 2-4 car lenghths on him. also my car is neck and neck with a JDM 98 spec integra type r

(integra wins on top speed..as soon as we hit 110 he was gone )

thanks for reading!!!

ck

Lol, any worthwhile boosted Type R is pushing 300+. They respond to boost incredibly well, if it's not pushing 250 at least then there's something wrong with it or the owner's an idiot.

I need to know what size turbo it is using, what psi the turbo is running at, and what engine management the car is using. I could then give you an idea how much that car is pushing.

I've seen plenty of boosted ITRs. many of them have mild boost.

but you can dial in even more boost. you just have to reinforce the cylinder walls and get good tuning to prevent a piston from entering out the bottom of the block.

too much timing is a killer....

Ok what i meant was that it was harder to tune than a convention lower compression motor because the added compression contributes to more frequent preliminary combustion. And it is a great all motor motor

its all in the tuning....find a good management system and a expert tuner and a FI ITR will be one fun car.
