ORIGINAL: megafandrew ya, civics aren't that fast either when stock, and for a new car, 30k is like an average, that new si 07 is like what, 25k? I like nissan cars and nismo is very good quality performance parts, my buddy has an old pulsar nismo tuned a bit and it lays a whipping to alot of cars, i just dont see why everyone cares if a 350z is slow stock or not, most 30k sports cars arent that fast (except for the wrx sti and a few others ) but anyways, yeah civics can be mad fast, but i think 6k could buy a pretty nice turbo kit for the Z, cause performance enthusiasts that buy a z, probally have money to spend on this car to make it fast, and as far as slow stock, i thought they were pretty quick, ive only ridden in one as a passenger, but we were doing about 190 up a hill, a long hill at that, so.... all im saying is the 350 is nice car, stop hatin dudes, they probally say the same about our civics new civic si, around $25k with every option... maybeif you got every option they're $21ish to start, and there aren't many options beyond wheels & underbody spoilers etc as for calling a wrx sti a sports car, i refuse to call any vehicle with 4 doors a "sports" car it's a family car with a modded drivetrain true sports cars require 2 doors, and preferably a convertible option... even more so if it doesn't have a back seat... for the most part, insurance companies consider the same... 2 doors = sports 4 doors = family hence why i could insure a 4 door si for less than a 2 door... and why it'd be possible to insure a sti for less than a 2 door impreza or an evo for less than a eclipse

id like some back up on that claijm of the insurance being lower on an evo than on an eclipse because the evo has four doors. i drive a stratus RT coupe, and a few years ago my insuarance was about 1100 a year. i have a perfect driving record...no accidents, no tickets...and if i would have traded it on an srt4, my insurance would have almost doubled.

with my clean record progressive quotes $205.71/month for the evo (lancer) $205.38/month for the eclipse so the same pretty much... most insurance companies don't distinguish between different trims of a car when looking for insurance , i'm sure if i inputted a vin #, it'd come out a bit more for an evo though having talked to my agent recently (have been thinking about getting a new car) she told me i'd pay less for sedan v coupe on the Si and less for a tsx than an older rsx and about the same for an evo as i would an eclipse

Every insurance company has different ways of rating their drivers. There are many factors that play a part in your rates. Just because two people are the same age it doesnt mean they're going to have similar rates. For instance, the state you live in, the zip code you live in, previous coverage (any laspes in coverage) , previous claims (even if it was with a different company), how much money was paid out on the previous claims, current level of coverages you're seeking (deductibles, limits, and etc.) accidents, traffic infractions, your age, year, make & model of the insured vehicle, how may drivers there are in your household, and etc. If you have a previous claim that isnt even your fault your rates may still be affected if you have to use your own coverages for the cost of the damages because you're then considered a risk factor. Your credit even has something to do with it sometimes. The list of factors insurance companies consider goes on and on. I work for a large auto insurance company so to be perfectly honest you guys are really just wasting your time going back and forth about your rates. lol
