Type r components
 

I've been studying up a lot on performance parts lately and I just got to the inside of the engine. Wondering if anyone can explain what all of these do and how they affect each other.[:-]

(1) JDM Bare Integra Type R Cylinder Head

(1) JDM Civic Type R Intake Camshaft

(1) JDM Integra Type R Exhaust Camshaft

(1) Set Of Integra Type R Lost Motion Assemblies

(1) Set Of Integra Type R Rocker Arms, Misc Bolts, Seals Etc

(1) Set Of Integra Type R Yellow Intake Inner & Outer Valve Springs


They belong to a JDM Integra Type R Cylinder Head GSR Civic Si.

Do you mean how they affect the car's performance? Or just how they work?

that is a good site to go to but he doesnt need that for this question i think :eek: but basically you will have a b18c5 itr instead of a c1 gsr.

OK. though the question is a bit confusing, ill do my best.

1. same casting as a b16a head, but is treated to a custom port and polish at the factory.

2. a more aggressive cam than the stock B16a, B18c1 cam.

3. same as above. though as a sidenote, the 00 and up ITR and CTR cams have a slightly more aggressive profile than earlier ITR ones, though the difference is VERY small.

4. i think they are slightly lighter than the stock ones, not sure though.

5. pretty much the same as the lost motion assemblies. maybe a little lighter, but too close to really matter.

6. kind of an odd question, as the B16a and B18c1 have stiffer springs than the type r ones. that is due to the heavier valves. the C1 and B16a however, have single valvesprings on the exhaust side, where type Rs have duals on both sides. so im kind of thinking it means that it has the intake springs on the exhaust side to add the duals to the exhaust side. having stiffer springs allows for higher redline because they pull the valves back faster, which keeps them from hitting the piston as it comes up.
