Default Alarm not working

i have a 98 civic EX, i have a kenwood head unit, my keyless entry works, but the panic button will not, is there a reason this could be, is it b/c of the aftermarket head unit, ???

Did the panic button stop working when you put in your CD player? If so then it has something to do with the stock radio sharing the same reciever with the keyless entry or something. There are many people who have posted this same problem all over this sight. And have detailed answers to this question.
*And this may be a dumb question, but did you try holding down the panic button for a second or two, rather than just pushing it once?

Well I know this may sound dumb but check your remote, look at it when you press down the panic button. You should see a litle red light up at the top blink. And I hope you know that in order to set off the panic, you have to hold it down.
