Painted Valve Cover
Hey I finally got a VTEC valve cover. I stripped the paint and painted it over the last couple of days. Here’s what she looks like now. I’ll be posting my other valve cover for sale after I take it off and clean it. It’s a VTEC valve cover but it doesn’t say VTEC on the top. Right now it’s painted red with flaws in the paint. To sell it do you think I should leave it be, strip the paint to the bare metal, or strip it and repaint it blue like my new one? Thanks!!

RE: Painted Valve Cover
just strip it to metal. then let the customer choose so they can paint it themself, or charge them extra to paint it

I would repaint the one you are trying to sell from red to black.Looks good the one with Vtec on it.I have painted my d15 valve cover I need to paint my b18 black again.

RE: Painted Valve Cover
The Valve cover I painted blue is a much darker blue than in the first picture. Here's a different on, but still, the picture is lighter than it actually is. Darn cheapo Polaroid cameras.
So you think I should paint the one I'm selling black instead on leaving it bare metal? Hmm, any other suggestions? I don't have any paint other than blue right now, so I'd have to buy some more. Thanks!! |

RE: Painted Valve Cover
Has anyone thought about powdercoating their valve cover? My cousin powdercoated the valve cover on his Neon and it looked great.

RE: Painted Valve Cover
I would have done that but I'm cheap and I can paint it myself with similar but NOT equal results.

ORIGINAL: cancov Has anyone thought about powdercoating their valve cover? My cousin powdercoated the valve cover on his Neon and it looked great. plus it's cheaper to change colors if needed. |
RE: Painted Valve Cover
Plus if the power coating ever chips off you're screwed. With paint you can touch it up whenever.
