Default suggested swap for a 91 dx

just wondering what kind of swap anyone would suggest for a 91 dx. that will be easy on the budget and reliable for a daily driver. Any help would be great.

B18a or B18a1....a1 has more hp but the B18a is obd0 like the dx so would be an easier swap...both are cheap....

also you could get a jdm d15b ...that is a really inexpesive swap for you cause you can use your tranny ect and it will give you a little more pep(vtec)

Thats why you want the jdm d15b it has vtec(there would not be much of a point to swap a non vtec d15 when you could just get a d16y8/z6)....there are some people on here with zc motors also...ive not got any real experience with them but there inexpensive and come in dohc & sohc....not a whole lot of aftermarket support from what i hear....hopefully someone sees this and put some more info about them on

again zc motors not my forte but ive know some people that have had them....they are older motors which means they are not a wiring horror when swapping into your car (except youll have to wire for vtec)...dont plan on extensive aftermarket support...if you want to buiild a fast motor this might not be the best route...if you just want a qucker car and keep the motor stock short of i/h/e it would be a good bet i would assume

if it were me i would do a b16 gen 1, because its cheap and it has vtec, the zc doesnt. there plenty of aftermarket support for a b16 because they still make them just obd 2. has the most hp out of any of the above mentioned engines

ive swapped a zc into my 91 hb. but if your looking for a legal swap. the zc wouldnt be a good idea. they dont have much aftermarket support.
