Default 04 gti and 02 stang gt

yea.. got my ass handed to me last night after work. one of the guys i work with just bought an 02 mustang gt about a month ago.. and i just got an 04 gti last week. (both are stick) so we both got off work last night at the same time n pulled up to a stop light (making sure no one else was around because endangering others while racing just isnt cool)

the light turned green n both of our tires were squealing.. my traction control kicked in and i got traction and had him by a good 2 cars until he shifted to 3rd.. and thenn..... he was gone. haha. whooped my ass. i never even wouldve been in front of him if he had traction. he was burning out all the way into second gear. soon im gunna put SRI and catback on the car and im gunna get it chipped and tuned so hopefully i'll be able to put up a better fight next time. ha.

the intake inst going to give you ANY gains harly at all....maybe 2hp thats it....save your money for the chip and the diverter valve....then the cat back....trust me....I used to have a 1.8T.

PS you're gonna need the diverter valve before the chip too....get the forge motorsports 007p

you see the way the VW's work....instead of having a blow off valve, they have a diverter valve which pretty much works the same way. The difference is the diverter valve re-routes the blown off air pressure back through the intake to help keep the turbo spooled. The reason why you need the diverter valve before the chip is because the chip is going to increase your max boost psi which the stock one cannot handle because its a piece of crap. From what I've heard, the WRX's use diverter valves as well. You're gonna wanna get the forge motorsports 007p which is pretty much the best diverter valve out there. They cost about $130 plus shipping. You can find out a lot about your car by becoming a member on 18turbo.com and VWVortex.com So read up and you'll learn a lot just like you would on any other one of these sites.

PS oh and expect to spend atleast $500 for the chip...you wont need any additional tuning afterwards though.

btw I was able tobeat a 4.6L stang GT on the interstate from a roll at 60mph on a stock chip when I had my 1.8T so imagine what you might be able to pull off when you get your chip.
