View Full Version : Hello: B16 coupe::Civic from the Netherlands::
Nick b16 03-28-2007, 05:06 PM Hi there, i`m new to this forum,so i thought i`d introduce myself.
My name is Nick, and i`m from the Netherlands. I used to drive Renualt`s, but made the switch to my Honda civic coupe 3 jears ago. Before that i had a R5 Gt turbo, Clio 1.8 16v, and a Meganè coupé. All very nice cars, but the last one fell apart alot and drove me nuts because of that. Thats why i decided to switch to Honda. My brother has a 1989 crx that he has driven every day for the past 10 jears, and it has never broken down or fallen apart!
So this is my ride....

Hahaha...you don`t know how many people told me that. I`m gonna change the tails, but 99-00 tails are no where to be found in Holland.
that guy 03-28-2007, 07:10 PM you can usually find them on ebay...most sellers will send them internationally so long as you're not from asia (lots of scams from there on ebay)
check with major part suppliers in the US, they ship internationally. Honda is also really good about sending factory parts internationally, but you will pay more for them.
good luck, and that's a nice looking car.
JohnnyTEAMDSR 03-29-2007, 12:03 AM HOW DID U PAINT UR VALE COVER SO GOOD!?!?!

HOW DID U PAINT UR VALE COVER SO GOOD!?!?!
Like this...
Smear the valve cover with paint stripper.
http://www.kingruler.nl/gallery/albums/album156/IMG_3695.sized.jpg
After that it looks like this....
http://www.kingruler.nl/gallery/albums/album156/IMG_3700.sized.jpg
When you have removed all the paint,go over it with some scotchbrite and put it in the dishwasher for like a half hour. Then it looks nice and clean.
http://www.kingruler.nl/gallery/albums/album156/IMG_3701.sized.jpg
http://www.kingruler.nl/gallery/albums/album156/IMG_3702.sized.jpg
Later just mask off the parts of the cover that you don`t want to paint.
http://www.kingruler.nl/gallery/albums/album156/IMG_3710.sized.jpg
Shoot primer for aluminum.
http://www.kingruler.nl/gallery/albums/album156/IMG_3712.sized.jpg
And after that, color and heat resistant clearcoat.
http://www.kingruler.nl/gallery/albums/album156/IMG_3718.sized.jpg
And voila.

omg ur king of valve covers lol how did u make the letters white white out gettin it on the cover..
Nick b16 03-29-2007, 03:59 PM Thanx for the positive reply`s guys. Feel right at home:D
@ JohnnyTEAMDSR: In the picture the letters look like their white. After i painted the color on i sanded the paint off the letters with some sandingpaper wrapped around a peice of wood to bring out the color of the aluminum. After that i covered it with the clearcoat. You could also mask off the letters or put some chapstick on it before painting.
Ow, and ROTM would be cool!!:D
Remmy 03-29-2007, 05:26 PM This paint job is now in the DIY section so none of you will need to dig this thread up down the road.

sickdancy 03-30-2007, 12:53 PM sick exhuast header...
Nick b16 03-30-2007, 02:48 PM Sadly the header isn`t going in to my car. That was a project of a friend of mine that has his own company. But problems with the manufacturer led to a stop of the project.

welcome to the forum
Thanx dude.
Ive been playing with the idea of turboing my engine, but i really have a thing for N/A tuned engines. I`m still looking into my options. I dont have that much knowledge about the technical aspects of tuning.Thats why i join forums like these, to understand more about it. I know most things about engines, but turbo charging, thats like a whole fillosephy.
Skrapdoggydog 03-30-2007, 05:13 PM what color/kind of paint did u use on ur valve cover? i really like that color blue. nice ride bro!!
heymikey19 03-30-2007, 06:05 PM where did you get the carbon fiber spark plug cover
Nick b16 03-30-2007, 07:00 PM @ Scrapdoggydog: The color on the valve cover looks blue, but it`s more like purple.
It`s a color by Motip(don`t know if that`s a wellknown brand in the states)strait off the rack.
Don`t know the colorcode.
@ heymikey19: I believe the sparkplug cover is from a dutch company called JCP.
Don`t know exactly where it`s from cause a friend gave it to me. It`s supposed to be a spoon replica i think.
heymikey19 03-30-2007, 07:09 PM looks sick ive wanted one for awhile but just keep finding cheap knockoffs
Nick b16 03-30-2007, 07:13 PM Yeah i know, the real stuff always looks better. Too bad you can see that in the price aswell:D
rhdekhatch 03-30-2007, 09:52 PM i love your car! i just cant wait until i can actually work on mine.

that guy 04-01-2007, 02:38 PM This thread makes me wish I had not gone to college...
I could be tuning my civic like a freak if I was back in my hometown. I have to work so much during the summers, I never have any time to hang out or work on other stuff. Such a bummer.
Maybe after college, I can get some of that done.
BlackedOutCiViC 04-01-2007, 05:42 PM Man that car is looking sick. I wish I could get a better motor for my coupe. D15 blows...
ProjectGSR 04-01-2007, 08:07 PM Nice job on the VC. I was going to buy a pre-painted B16 VC, but now I'm going to do it myself. Cant wait to see the engine go in...
Nick b16 04-05-2007, 04:39 PM Got myself a new toy today.
Oem Honda Vtec controller. At least that`s what i was told.
http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s134/nvds-bucket/IMG_4203.jpg
Remmy 04-05-2007, 05:02 PM Thats cool and all but I wouldnt have got a vtec controller. There is really not much point in fooling with it because vtec is already at a premo setting by the factory. The only reason why you would want to fool with it in a since if if you have a large turbo to accomodate.
Nick b16 04-05-2007, 05:40 PM I thought it was kind of cool to have, since it was originally an option for an ITR and a friend of mine was selling it and that it`s a pretty rare part around here. Otherwise i wouldnt have bought it.
sheeeznet!
What a nice car! I really want those rims...
johnny 04-07-2007, 06:50 PM I want my car to be exactly like that. Stay on HCF so i can Nominate and vote for you in ROTM!

Hahaha, "Telefoonapparatuur" good word for playing scrabble:D It means "phone equipment".
The radiator stay is something my brother had laying around and wasn`t using it for his project anymore. And yeah you`re right, the price for it is just stupid. I bet the folks at Spoon are laughing theis ass off.:D

clean, may i ask how much the swap cost u?
The swap itself was about 2500 euros. It cost me another 1000 euros to replace all the smal stuff like gaskets, rings, seals, hoses, nuts and bolts, all oem Honda stuff.
B16`s are getting harder to find over here. But i got mine relatively cheap.
Ow, and thanks for the positive feedback guys!:D
riceburner700 09-05-2007, 12:22 PM jesus, i hate you man lol. j/k im extreamely jelious of your beautiful clean car

speed_o 09-05-2007, 01:00 PM Awesome car man...
I want to do the same thing with mine, except I wish I had the money or the experience!
BX_Civic 09-05-2007, 01:32 PM Cars looking great man, keep up the good work and keep the pics comming.
Nick b16 09-05-2007, 02:33 PM Thanks guys:D
@ speed_o: I don`t have that much experience, just a couple of good friends and my brother that helped me out.
Without them it probably wouldn`t have come out like this. As for money, it took every penny i could spare for over 12 months.
@ Flip: That would be nice;)
Nick b16 05-13-2008, 02:57 AM Whats up guys! Haven't been here for a while. Thought i'd say what's up, and post up some updates.
Ditched my airbag in favor of a sparco steering wheel.

Got myself a pair of new EK9 headlights.

Oem Type R shift boot.

EK9 cluster.

And i swapped my srr motormounts for a set of Hasports's. The srr's were just too hard. from 120 km/h i needed earplugs because the hard mounts resonated to much sound within the car.
Great for track/drag use, but not for road unfortunally.

But that means more funding for my ride:D
Nick b16 05-26-2008, 03:05 PM Got a set of new seats today. They're Recaro's from an evo7.
I also ordered a set of EK9 seat mounts from Japan so the seats can be installed.
I'll post some more pics when i got them in the car.
