Default Front mount Intake

I found some front mount cold air intake kits, Would these be better than a regular cold air intake??

cool concept but i dont see how much better it would be considering the air would have to go a complete right angle to get in that pipe... i dunno i could be talking out of my ass. doesnt it look a bit ricey tho?

See another reason I want to do this is I have a throttle body spacer with threaded inside which in a way spools up the air, making a turbo like sound,so when it gets to about 3.5 to 4 rpms it spools up it does make it pull a little harder, and you can hear it when you shift, its pretty cool, fakes people out all the time, and for those dum ass young kids that are like were is you intercooler well if I get a front mount it will be a little more believable, you know what I mean.
