Default 91 dx swap to ex

I have a 91 dx and i wanna swap it with an ex. what all would i need and can i keep the same transmition? my dad is a mechanic and wants to help but he's older and isn't as up to date with all the new tech. he's confident about it, i just need to know what we're in for...

You should just swap to si and if you keep a sohc motor in it you can most likely use your tranny....if you have dpfi you have to wire it for mpfi

ex=4dr civic with a d16a6 and a 4.0 final in the tranny..............basically a full si conversion with a slightly taller final. for a complete conversion you will have to do a mpfi conversion. it conssits of rewiring for 4 injectors instead of 2. although you can swap in the d16 and ex transmission and use your current manifolds and distributor.
