Default bmw and slk race

i was driving in my civic on a somewhat busy road that is 4 lanes wide total(2 going each way) when i hear what sounds like a bike possibly a gsxr or something up ahead but i dont see any bikes only cars. I approach a stop light where i hear the engines again, it was the first two cars at the light. i was two cars back but i was behind a miata so i saw the whole show. It was a newer modded bmw m3 from what i could tell exhaust was not stockand a brand new slk decked out possible amg package on it if they came with it otherwise really custom. The light changes and in about 4 seconds both cars a well into 3rd gear and out of sight. These were the fastest cars ive ever seen on the street myself so i was amazed i guess im used to hittin 3rd after about 15 seconds of acceleration and thats with a slight downhill slope soi wascurious of what some numbers these cars could be laying down at a track. im not sure what slk it was though

if the slk was the amg it was rocking a 5.5L V8...and its quite fast...those m3's are slow w/o a sc...sounds like a good show
