installing a turbo
 

I have a 94 delsol si. I`m planning to turbo it with a greddy kit and intercooler. Now I`m not great at working on engine work. I know that the chip is preprogramed. So I dont have to worry about that. I found a place thats know out here for there work on imports and putting on turbo kits. They want to charge $850 put it on.

On a scale 1 though 10 (10 being hardest) how hard is it to put on and do u think i could put it on if its just bolt and pipes. or is therewelding involved?

I can tell you that 850 is prettypricy for installation. Does that include a dyno/tune? If by preprogrammed chip youre referring to the greddy blue box, it sucks. Theres alot of bolting, but shouldnt be any welding with a greddy kit. Their biggest selling point is the fact that the kits bolt on.

Its not including a dyno/tune. they dont have a dyno machine. Put there the only guys i know in new orleans that does custom work to imports. I am getting a greddy turbo because its the cleaniess set up. I`m going for more of a show car ever though i`m doing a lot of engine overhaul on it. If i can get a book on how to do it or if there is insructions and its bolt on. i think i can do it.

i think GReddy kits are staright up bolt on, no welding.

if youre not comfortable under the hood i wouldnt start tryin to install a turbo.

if you do wana do it.. do a lot of research. make sure you have ALL of the knowlege you need and more before you start. dont just wing it.. cuz you'll mess something up. confidence is key.

but i wouldnt pay 850 to have it installed either. someone who knows what they are doing.. could have it done in a matter of a few hours.. and that shouldnt be no 850.

Its easy to install a GReddy kit. NO welding. If you use that fuel program you WILL cause damage to your engine. Take my word for it.

I always wondered about the piping. Is it cut perfectly or doyou need to modify it a little?
