Default Will 6.5" speakers fit in my '95 Civic Hatchback ?

I have a '95 Civic Hatchback and atm i have the CDT CL-51 (5.25") compo set installed but i dont like what i'm hearing so i want to upgrade to some bigger speakers namely the CDT CL-62 wich are 6.5"
Somebody else who had some more experiance then me installed my whole audio system (Dragster Audio Art DAB 4160 amp, CDT CL-51 compo set and a Kicker comp 12 sub)
He said that 6.5" speakers would not fit properly without modifying the door a bit, so i chose the smaller speakers at that time, but since i dont like the sounds they produce i want some better speakers.

Unfortunately i cant find the precize demensions the 6.5" CL-62 speakers have so i dont know if it will fit, so can anyone here tell me if it will fit without having to modify the doors ?
Does anybody have 6.5" speakers installed without having to modify the doors ?

Mounting depth is going to be a problem with the speakers i want according to that list, mounting depth is 1" 7/8 according to that list and the speaker mounting depth is 2,6" .....
But how do they measure that, is that the distance from the surface u put ur speakers on to the inside of the outer door panel ?
Could prolly fix that by putting the speaker on a MDF ring maybe....
Have to do some measuring tomorrow then.

Cheers

dont quote me, but i think youll be fine without rings or anyhing like that. My friend has a 94 civic and alpine type-X's in the doors. Those fit no problem without a hitch so im sure youll be ok...... worst case though, ring it up, just dont make it so think that the speaker cover wont fit.

Well i did some measuring and they will fit but i cant turn the windows completely down then
And even if do use rings the windows probably wont go down completely since the mounting depth of the speakers i want is 2.7", and if i make the rings too think i cant get the covers on anymore [sm=smiley21.gif]

But i'm hoping this is all temporary since i;m looking for a new car, looking at Honda Preludes atm, the ones made between '96 and '01, and if they wont fit in there properly either i will just have to modify the doors
