I have '94 Civic EX Coupe 5 Speed. After I start the engine and try to shift, I am not able to put into any gear. Also, when I step on the clutch it feels different. It's hard to explain in words, but it feels "off". Does anyone know what is wrong with it and/or how to fix it? Thank you. T

Grind gears often? Couldve bent your shift fork or messed up your synchros.

Make sure that you push the clutch completely WAY down to the floor. I stall my car on a crowded road before and when i tried to turn it on it won't turn on. I was like **** i better get out and start pushing but it turn out that i didn't push the clutch all the way down to the floor.

no, it sounds like a clutch problem. try to decribe the feel a little better. did it just happen? or was it a gradual thing? was your clutch slipping at all before?

you know as strange as this sounds it might be the problem. When I was young my father had an accord, 94' actually. My mother spilled coke on the shifter all summer long... in the winter my dad would turn the car on to take me to school and he would sit there and fight the shifter for 5 minutes every time. The dealer told him the old sticky coke got down there and would freeze causing the shifter to "lock" .

I would lean towards a faulty master or slave. If either one is bad or low on fluid, the clutch will not depress all the way preventing the car from going into gear. Seen it many times.

IS grinding the gears, like say when you are shifting and while putting it into letrs say 4th the clutch is not al the way in and a load sound happens and it wont go into gear, thats grinding? and how bad is that.

i think we need more info. im leaning toward the master or slave as well, but its hard to tell without more info. check the fluid level. is it low?
