its got the same stats as the type-r teg motor

...except for the displacement. And actually, it's only 11:1 CR (an almost insignificant difference) and 10 lb/ft more torque. If you can find someone/someplace to do an install who knows their stuff, definitely go for it. $2,500 is a hell of a deal (is that for E/T/ECU?)

Damn, I'd snatch that up. Normally they run around $4,000. But is the engine tested, and does it have any kind of guarantee/warranty?

You got those backwards. c5 is type-r and c1 is gsr.

well for one..the type r motor is like another 3 grand. yes it IS faster stock, but the gsr motor holds up better on mods and is only a little slower then the r motor and alot cheeper

well wait. the type r motor doesnt necessarily not hold up on mods. it just wont take to turbo as well as the slightly lower compression GSR/b18c1. for NA, the type r motor is hard to beat.

Yes, there's a "Replacement for Displacement". Its called Volumetric Efficiency.
