Default Raced a Spec V.

Not like its anything to brag about but..........I was driving home from work tonite going about 40. Its 1am. Some dude is riding my ass, so I slow down to 25 or so......he moves left to pass in the oncoming lane, I mash the throttle. No soup for him. He keeps trying to pass, but the gsr motor wont let him, as second gear is wicked responsive when im cruising at 4,000rpms. We hit a highway and catch a light.......hes tells me hes got an intake, nothing more. It seemed like we were both just going to slightly take off, so on green I am going slow and he BOOKS it outta there, gets 2 cars on me before I start getting on it. I caught up to him by the mid-end of third gear, but by then we were goin 100, and I shut it down. Had I kept going I would have taken him, but I NEED my drivers license to live, I dont need to prove that I can beat a Spec V in a street race. I count it as a W in my book. What do you think?

nice race and goot choice on shutting it down when you did. I dont know about where you live but here in oregon you get caught going over 100 you lose your license forever.

What do they run anyway? They have like 175 hp and a 6 speed right?

if anyone is in the oklahoma area or the NY area or NJ just let me know and i'll go against anyone just for fun. I drive both cars, the spec v and a jdm b16 swapped civic. If anyone is curious of beating a spec v just let me know and i'll give you a few runs to see if you can or not. Personally i like the spec v better then my b16 civic because you accually feel the power more cuz of the torque and the short gear ratio of a 6speed. Stock for stock the b16 would win but if you mod both cars with i/h/e, then the spec v is going to win. The headers for the spec v makes the car come alive, it's like putting cams on a b16.Now, if both cars were fully boltedthe spec v would win.The only thingilove about the b16 is the high revingwith a chipped p30 ecu.

to answer your question spec v runs an average of low 15's stock with a good driver but i also have seen high 14's stock spec v's, it depends if you could drive it well. The spec v is very tricky when it comes to launching, it's alot harder then civics or integras but if done right it really gets out the hole quick. And it's 175hp to the crank but if it's dynoed its between 144-148hp, just about the same as the GSR. And yes it's a 6speed. dont get fooled with the regular SER's they are a 5speed with 165hp to the crank and they look exacally the same as the spec v (body wise).
