well today was fun. weather was great, sunny, close to 80's. i believe there were about 280 cars out racing along with some shifter karts. the course was close to a mile long. it was a very fast course tho, not very technical, which i hate. it deffenitly favored the higher horsepower cars. i'd say the average time posted was prolly between 60-65 seconds.
course map
pic from the morning grid, which i didnt run. in the afternoon there were a handfull of Z06's, Elise, Caterham's, and a bunch of other mean cars.
stuck the camera mount on my sunroof. made for some great vid and the wind wasnt a big issue minus the parts when i was driving into the wind.. http://media.putfile.com/DC-AutoX-4-22-07-Run-1
over all im not very happy with the way i ran. for one thing, this is prolly the fastest course i've ever driven. im more used to the technical, sharp turns, chicago boxes, tight slaloms, etc courses. one thing i had a problem with here was finding the right line and sticking with it. i tried a couple different lines and they just didnt feel right and my results reflect that. i have no idea how i placed, i kno not great, but w/e. ill have some more pics tomorrow prolly. another teams photographer was out all day today and i kno he has a bunch of great shots.
sweet stuff man, hope you had as much fun today as i did.

man checking it out again, that definately was a lot more open than the course we ran today. Also, it was a lot more controlled than all the runs today, but I think that's because it was wet and there was some gravel out, definately some traction issues.

ya i had a great time as always. as bad as i may have ran, its still too fun and i dont really care much about the times. i walked away learning how important finding ur line and sticking with it is. this new camera mount is gena help me out a lot. watching back at the vid, i can see where i screwed up and now know where to improve on for other races. i really need to hit up another novice school tho...
looked good exracer. your last run was def way better than your first. you improved a ton between them. there were still some spots that it seemed like you slowed down where you probably should have sped up.. (but i could be really wrong.. hard to tell from a video) but it definitely looked like a beautiful day.
i also feel somewhat compelled to tell you that i drove by that stadium in march. my buddy and i took a road trip from chicago to md/de/pa (the tri state area right there) because his family lives out there.. (he actually went to school in aberdeen for a year or 2.. i read in some thread that you live in aberdeen)
also.. is that the 3 suction cup camera mount you used from soloperformance.com? do you like it??
i just bought that mount n i'll have some vids up next weekend after my next event.

TeamWTF?!'s photographer took a ton of pics but i decided to just take 1 car from each class to share. sorta gives u an idea of what cars run in what class and such too..
