Default Muffler install cost

I realize everyone is going to tell me to get a cat-back, but I definitely don't have the money for that. I bought a uni magnaflow muffler that I got for pretty cheap and just was going to get it installed on stock piping. I phoned a local shop and they quoted me at least $70 [&:]Is this overpriced? I was assuming it wouldn't be that big of a job.

$70 to cut off your stock muffler then weld that on? I don't know if thats a competitive price but it sounds like a 10-15min job.

It cost me $70 aswell to get my cat-back put on. I know the guy though and he hooks me up. But thats def not including the $380 bucks I spent on my magnaflow setup. You should try meineke or another place I wouldn't spend more than $50 for something like that.

Yeah, i had a magnaflow system installed on my 06 coupe, and it definitely sounds deeper, doesn't have that raspy sound i hear all the time from small engine cars. I love it because it is bolt on, only took the shop about 45 minutes.

that price is a little high to me, maybe 35 to 40 will suffice for a fair price.

most shops charge by the hour....so that is a fair price..........if they bust it out in 30 minutes then it should be 35. Thats what the shop said to me, but they had to do a lot of fabrication for my muffler since its a twin loop and doesnt come with hangers. Took them 2 hours and charged me 80$.......i was happy lol
