NOOOOOO! dont powedercoat them. it weakens the metal, the ovens most powdercoating shops use, fluctuate in temperature, and that kills the bonds in the metal. wheels that come powdercoated from the factory are cooked in a special oven that holds the temperature consistent, but those ovens are a couple hundred thousand dollars, so very few places have them. you dont want a wheel shattering on you at high speed.

I thought of powder coat but hell I might as well get new rims for the money they are asking for down here(OK)$450 for the 5(spare).I picked up some very good gunmetal paint and will be putting it to use this weekend. I'll post pics when I get back from(MO). I appreciate the input..by the way do think 5 cans is too much? And Saci did you say you did the back half black? and does it look decent that way?

5 cans is more than enough. i did four rims with 2 cans with some left over. andi was saying that i just used a light coat of the gunmetal in the back, just to get it close to the same. you cant even tell. you dont need the three coats in the back part.

Here they are, will put more on later when it is light outside! So what do you think now? I also removed the rubber molding around the fender.

Somebody HELP me...I drove to MO today and in tulsa I hit the fkng hugest fkng un kept rode crater it was so bad it gave my dog the sh*ts at the next rest stop since she could not maintain after the impact...long story short the struts/shocks are completely original as I found out today after examining the born on date 1/24/93(rides alright) but a rubber bushing of some sort blew where it looks like the steering rod connects at the wheel. What might this be? Or cause if left unchecked until I drive back in a few days?
Clearly: there is a rod that connects at the wheel it has an accordian style covering 3/4 the size of the viewable rod just before it enters the engine bay. This is my biggest concern.. How concerned should I be?
