Default supercharged vs turbo charged

i have a 2000 si right now with stock motor but i/h/e chipped, stage 3 clutch, short throw and suspension. is there a gain by having a supercharger rather than turbo. which should i invest in and do you think i will gain quicker launches w/ supercharger???

For driving in normal traffic a supercharger is gonna make more usable HP. For highway travel and open roads, a turbo is gonna be MUCH better. It sorta depends on where you do most of your driving. For me I an going the supercharger route, because I mostly drive in town (under 50 MPH). Just keep reading everything you can and talk to people that have gone both routes. The choice is your. Good Luck with it.

this has been covered a thousand times,

supercharger= less parts, less power
turbocharger= more parts, more tuning, more power

Supercharger = power right away, low RPMs
Turbocharger = you have to wait for power (higher RPM) but you get more power than a S.C.
It all depends on your application.

May i ask why you have your ECU chiped if you don't have anything that requires tuning?

You can chip an ecu to squeeze a few more hp out of your bolt ons and use them to their full potential if I'm not mistaken.

OP: there is a sticky about this.

Supercharger = Waste of time and money
Turbocharger = Honda's best friend

that is completly bias.....
Supercharger = **** load easier to install, RELIABLE, maintance is more or less care free, instant boost(no spooling) Better for a DD!!! like driving around doing like 55mph mostly

TurboCharger = alot more gains HP+, harder to install...more fabricating, more tuning, more maintance, more parts to go wrong, better for highway

If your supercharger craps out you go back to stock hp--- if your turbo craps out you got a paper wieght for a car.
i like superchargers because they are so much more easier to care for, but you got to love that turbo *BOV*<-- so cool
I DONT WANT TO START A WAR SO JUST LEAVE IT BE ITS JUST MY $0.02
