It makes a world of difference, being able to select the corect gear and put your engine into it's optimum power range is key to racing.

To do a manual swap you would need a 92-00 ex transmission, clutch master cyl, clutch lines, slave cyl, a ecu from a ex manual from the same year as your car, and a pedal set from a 96-00 manual civic.

^i have an o7 and im not too worried about makin it a manual. plus i can shift my car from gears 1-3 then drive which controls 4 and 5. those are the only gears i dont really have total control over, but i do get what your saying.

Sounds like maaad money/work. I would most likely be buying the parts and having someone install em . cuz i just wouldnt know where to start. idk wut the hell a  slave cyl is or even wut a cyl is. I live in the suburbs of chicago and there is traffic sometimes ( actually most of the time) but it seems as if it is just more practical to make it manual then boost

yeah, i got to thinking about it after i wrote that.  started to make sense when i got to thinking about it.  i was going from my experience with vehicles.  i've got a grand am 4 banger and i dont even try to race it or anything.  it's got a system in it, motor has a hard time getting out of it's own way, and it's my DD gas sipper.  now when the tranny goes IF i still have the car (more than likely will) when it gets rebuilt i might do a couple things to it to make it shift better and be a little stronger, but nothing crazy like on my silverado

Ive been reading up , kinda , on auto to manny swaps, and overall from u guys i see its gunna cost about 1500 bucks for parts for the tranny(mostly from autozone), not including labor ( am i right?), and then i would have to find a manual transmission first too?. So..

- find a manual tranny ( D16y8 manual)
- 1500 in parts
- and find someplace that will do the swap and get a quote for the labor.

Is this right?
