ORIGINAL: phan10m Ive been reading up , kinda , on auto to manny swaps, and overall from u guys i see its gunna cost about 1500 bucks for parts for the tranny(mostly from autozone), not including labor ( am i right?), and then i would have to find a manual transmission first too?. So.. - find a manual tranny ( D16y8 manual) - 1500 in parts - and find someplace that will do the swap and get a quote for the labor. Is this right? lol, is that all?

You're going about it all wrong. -Buy a complete b18 Swap with tranny for about 1000-1500 -Learn to weld -Swap that thing in yourself For under 2.5 grand (easily) You could have 140 horses and a manual tranny.

I mean it is never a bad thing to learn but you dont need to be able to weld to swap a engine.

I used the search and the "shopping list" for parts was like 1500. I dont want to spend the extra money to swap out to a b18, if anything i would want a k20 but I just want a manny trans.

in all reality your looking $400 to $600 for the complete parts list and a couple hundred for labor
