Default well i couldnt resist

............i know how i was talking about building my 8 vavle motor but i was really talking hard with these guys and my parents at this new performance/detail store over behind the new super walmart its called R>A>D or something like that, some 3 letter word but the point is they want somebody to tint all of the dealership cars and my my dad offered me to do the work for them like in the summer and here and there to make some money. I am up for this idea and am stoked but i am really stoked at the point that they had a PORTED AND POLISHED 16 valve head sitting in his garage the is brand new and he has had it for a while it was going to go onto some 400hp civic but they sold the car and they jsut have it sitting around.............................so the guy made me a deal i could either buy the head and he would put it on for 200 bucks or i could trade him out a tint job for his buddys truck so. they tlaked my parents into letting me get it because it has better gas milage than the 8 vavle so my parents bolieved it, so i am geting a job, a brand new head, and to trade them out work for parts which is badasssss.

how much power do you think that will make with...

ported head
intake
spark plug wires
ground kit
exsaust
and a pully

i bet it will make a hell of a lot more power than i have now, o yeah and i raced one of my friends who has a 93 eclipse non turbo'd with exsaust, intake and we were doing a rolling start we were dead even until we took off and then i shifted to second and waved goodbye because i was pulling away farly decent, and this is still on the 8 valve just to let ya know now how pathetic is that, lol just wait tell i get my head on there.

yeah, non-turbo eclipses arent that great. but it all depends on the quality of the headwork. its really easy to mess up the ports on a small engine. but the 16v non-vtec is rated at, i think, 30 more hp stock, so expect at least that, so maybe 30-50 hp gain. it will make a massive difference.

i think this head setup will work perfectly with my cx tranny for now until i like upgrade the flywheel and pressure plate but i love the gearing in my car 2nd goes to like 70mph versus some other models i have seen you have to shift a lot sooner. Cant wait to get the head on sometime soon.

the lower the gears are, the quicker the car will be. (at least on a civic, generally speaking) so an EX tranny would be best.

But (if you care about speed) you're going to run out of headroom really fast.
