Default Little ebay short shifter problem

Installed it today, love it! Shifting is alot tighter and more solid, but in 3rd and 4th gear when my RPMs are really low and my exhuast is rumblin, the bottom of the linkage rubs against the exhaust pipe. Now its metal rubbing on metal, so its a metallic noise, and it's really not that annoying, and it goes away when i put my hand on the knob, but has anyone had a similar problem? I've got 2.25" custom catback piping, so maybe the way thats installed is a little tighter to the car that OEM piping, but anyone has a problem like this. here's a pic of the install, i hope its installed right, if not i can flip it around really easily, but even if its installed wrong the shifting different was awesome and i'm probably gonna leave it, i love the new feel

Yes I had the same noise when I had my own Ebay short shifter (option racing to be exact) installed...I ignored it, and after a while, i noticed it went away...Don't know how what might have caused it to stop, but it just corrected itself...

flip i have the same problem with the ebay shifter...i think if i get longer exhaust hangers the sound would go away but I really only notice it now when i just start my car cold and all the pipes start to warm up....once that's done it seems to go away...shifter looks good though! i love mine when i first got it installed! it makes a huge difference!

Looks like you have it backwards. Is that a dual bend?

Yea is it backwards?

Also, did you replace the bushings? That is probably your problem. Also IMO short shifters are ghey and the shorten the life of your transmission. Grab a CTR shifter FTW

no flip..its not backwards..i have same thing...even the same color..lol...

but as far as your noise..i didnt have a noise..but my ebay exhaust had an extra hanger there..and it made me get stuck in 5th...good thing it was on stands..and i was just checking clearance..so i had to cut the extra hanger off...get your car up and have some one move it through the gears to check for clearance. if your ok..check and see if you have a washer...mine had one, and i bet if you dont have it tight enough. (some people lock theirs down, and get crazy solid shifts, but it takes more force...then others leave it kind of loose so its easier...) {i know a lot of people with them..lol} it could be that shaking a little...or it could be from somewhere else, and your just thinking its that...like maybe a clip under there...or near the cup holders...

i didnt replace the bushings..but i kinda want some Energy ones..but thats pretty far back on my list.
