Default lookin for more BASS

okay, so i just bought some new kicker 12' kicker subs, and my sony explod amp just isnt cutting it for me anymore. is there anyone out there who knows some stuff about higher powered amps. im looking to get away from sony, but i dont even know where to start. i'm really not sure whether i should get a mono channel amp, or another 2 channel amp and just bridging it. any help would be really sweet.
cheers.

Sony doesn't make the best audio equipment, actually quite far from it. If you have a pair of subs a nice Class D amplifier would be perfect. But we would need to know which subs they are before we could make any reccommendations. And of course your budget would also be good to know.

You are going to want about 800rms at 2 ohms. I would suggest a Sundown SAZ-1500D if you want a high quality amp, the 1500 from Kicker if you want to match subs/amp, or if you are ona budget try to the Sundown SAE-1000D since you can still get good introductory pricing. Any of those would be great choices for some comp vr's.

And just to let you know, in the right enclosure those subs will wang. Don't have the best sound quality in the world, but they can hit hard if installed properly.

Sony does not make very good car audio equipment. I can't speak for home audio, or anything else they make. But their car audio equipment is far from being considered good.

head units and mids, good

subs and amps, are pretty much crap i'll agree with you there.

(home audio, laptops, computers, cd players, and pretty much everything else i can vouch for their quality)

Glad to see you agreed on amps/subs. Anything rated at 1000rms max and puts out 250rms is crap in my book. And the subs are right on par with their amps lol.

Their HU's I have installed for a few people, and have never had any problems. But they are nothing special. Mids I can't really speak for. I have never used components from Sony before.

But I would never suggest sony to anyone. I just try to make the best of a bad situation when someone is running Sony.
