which parts...

what parts of a turbo kit need to be CARB approved? if i were to piece together a kit from scratch, how could i ensure a safe smog test? (i live in california)

i doubt you'de be able to pass emissions b/c im pretty sure theres the part about visual inspection and if you dont have the carb approval stickers for all of it i doubt you'de pass.

so i would suggest buying a carb approved turbo kit

that seems like what i expected, but if i were to piece it together, would everything need the certification? or certain parts? a kit looks like a safe bet, but starting with that and maybe upgrading certain parts is most likely. i feel like with the available kits for my 06 si that are CARB ok are pretty weak compared to what i could have.

yea well your goin to have to live with what you got really. i dont see a way around it really

i dont know what all parts would need certified but if i were you i'de play it safe and jus use the kit like Greddyi know they have a kit for that car, then the I/C kit also

Best of luck, but the only way the piece is CARB approved is if it is certified as such.

Greddy kits and I believe Edlebrock kits are as such.
