In your guys honest opinion, forget the fact the your honda lovers. Who do you think will win, a '00 celica gts or a '00 civic si? both stocks. And when both are modded whos faster?

Celica GTS all around better stock car than the EM1, however the ability to make the B16A2 a monster is much easier than the Celica engine (can't remember the model number off hand).

GTS stock for stock. Still say mod for mod it will own the Si

the gts will win hands down but like everyone says si is the easiest car w/ the most potential to upgrade.

Now I've heard the Scion Tc has a modern version of that same celica GTS engine, anyone know if thats true and if its de-tuned at all or what. I have heard some pretty amazing things about the GTS engine, and specifically the AWD Celica GTS (very rare rally inspired version based on what I've heard).

No offense but you have to boost every Honda engine to make decent power.[8D]

However, it's no secret that it's easier to find parts and tuning for the EM1 than the Celica GTS.

yea that is Bisi's car, him and I spoke on aim on a regular basis till about a year and a half ago. It's also a SOHC :)

yeah but typically speaking boosted cars are almost ALWAYS faster

you know i have actually raced one of those scions w/ the performance package. it has a supercharger i believe suspension pushing 240 hp... i raced one in my si and beat him by about 2 car lenghts going into 3rd

Did he know how to drive it? And some info about your Si would help to illustrate.

my friend is boosting his gts and i can tell you his parts are easily 3x the cost as a civ. Not only that, finding the stuff isnt exactly easy, whereas I see enough honda aftermarket biz to make my head spin. I thought his stock gts was pretty damn quick tho.

dude. if were talking bone stock and theyre both 2000 youd have to be a REALLY $hitty driver to lose in the GTS. it has way more power all around.

ok common now you know i did not mean 240 suspension get real. what i forgot a comma or put a word in the wrong place??? let me explain it again so you slower minded people can understand... ready... the car is said to have 240 hp... and the suspension is upgraded! my car is a 2000 si with sri/h/e chip (skunk2), short throw w/ stage 3 clutch, carbon fiber trunk and hood (not that it matters), suspension and minor internal work. i beat him by 2 car lengths into 3rd gear. sorry for getting mad but you guys know what i am trying to say and waist posts by asking questions

Carbon fiber trunk? I bet that would look pretty crazy. Hopefully you didn't bolt a spoiler onto it.:D

no i hate spoilers i think they are so stupid. those of you who have one need to ask yourself why because a park bench only helps rwd cars

Agreed. Spoliers not only look stupid but they increase drag and reduce downforce/traction on the front. There's this guy down the street from me with a 6th gen civic. He has nice halo lights, but a 2 foot cf spolier. [:'(]

I kinda like some of the aftermarket spoilers for my '02 hatch (mounts to stock location), but they look almost exactly like stock, just an inch or two longer andmost of emhave an integrated high-center LED brake light which I like...

But yeah, aftermarket wings, especially those universal aluminum/carbon ones, blah, simply sillypants.

They are rated at 200 NOT 240...40 hp is a pretty big difference.
