RE: swapping trannys - 3/9/2005 12:21:57 AM    finalimpact Posts: 1798 Joined: 3/7/2005 From: NC Status: offline lil info on the crx/civic trannies. 88 tranny uses the odd ball 200mm 21 spline clutch 89 uses the 200mm 20 spline clutch(early model) 90-91 uses the 212mm 20 spline clutch through all 4 years the casings share the same bellhousing with minor differences on the diff bearings internally(large/small bearing) use of the 90-91 transmissions in the 88-89 vehicles require the use of the 90-91 flywheel and clutch kit due to the different clutch sizes(200mm vs. 212mm) quote: I did have a bit of trouble ordering the proper axels, but on the wheel end, since there were a couple sizes for that car. diferences being either hf/std which share the smaller hub side compared to the larger dx/si hub side(unsure of axle spline count) (in reply to civic96RB) Post #: 14

I got a distributor, starter, alt, manifold, etc. in the deal too, so I got spare parts. The clutch was bad in it, but so far the tranny is working great. (in reply to finalimpact) Post #: 15
