Even if an H22 is a little harder to swap in. the 40 whp and TQ make it worth it.  B16 is a pointless swap in my opinion.  If youre doing a B series swap it should be a GSR or LS Turbo.  B16 is OVERRATED!

did you even read any of the stuff that was previously posted above???

lol werddddd

imo b16s are decent motors, i dont think their over rated and with the rite mods their pretty good, if i had the money id go for a gsr, i dont agree with all of this h22 is easy to swap in almost like a b16, it is nothing as easy compared to a b16, my friend swappped in a h22 and his hood didnt close, he had to buy a new hood and this was just one of the many problems he ran into

Did he do a straight swap, or an h2b or h2d swap cuz that makes a huge difference in the simplicity of swapping.

The H2B swap will cause your hood to stick up, I can say that for sure. But the H swap with H tranny shouldnt have any issues

I've been reading about the h22 now that I saw this thread and is there a way to do the h2d swap and keep your a/c?

Not that I know of.  From what I've seen in pictures, it's not the transmission that interferes with your a/c, it's the h22's exhaust manifold... I'll see if I can't dig up a picture of an h22 in a civic's bay.

EDIT: got one

See where that manifold is?  It's hard to tell at this angle, but I've seen almost straight-down pictures... the exhaust manifold is a few inches away from the front of the engine bay.

Sorry forall the trouble guys.
I decided don't want the B16 anymore. So for the same price my other option is the H22A. I think Iwill go with this, someone said the H2B swap will make the hood not close properly, is this the same with the H2D swap?
If I get this engine, I guess I could just try to find one without the tranny and then I could use mine. One more problem I have thought of is the exhaust manifold, will it line up with my adaptor plate to the turbo? My guess is no, but I have no idea how I would be able to fix that problem?

I don't think your d-series turbo mani would bolt up to the h-series engine, anyway.  You could probably get away with getting a turbo manifold for an h22 and just using that... you still might have to modify the intake/intercooler/whatever,-I'm-not-good-with-turbos piping a little.  Also, you might have to have your exhaust modified a little to bolt up to the h22's exhaust manifold... like I said before, I don't know from experience, I can only repeat what I've decided to be the general consensus.

EDIT: also, you can get spacers for the hood to make the hood able to close with an h2b, but it looks kinda funny... like, the hood sits a few inches above the fenders back toward the winshield.

you have to notch your subframe to have a/c and with 96-00 civic's there are no hood clearence problems
