Just purchased an 03 Civic Ex. Happy with the purchase but the paint needs help.

The condition of the paint, for the most part is pretty good. The hood has some heavy dings that take it down to the metal. Not exactly sure what the owner before me was doing with it (bought it from a Honda dealership) but there are a number of them. At some point I will get the car repainted.

The big question I have is this; What should I do in the mean time to keep the spots covered and keep from the possibility of rust setting in?

I washed, did the Meguiar's step process, Scratch X and then used tgheir High Tech wax over the entire thing.

Any and all help and suggestions are welecomed and appreciated.

Thanks,

Late...

prime it and then put some touch up paint on it. there's not really a need for clear coat, unless you plan to make it look as if it were new... because the process is actually pretty long. you'd also have to wet sand it.
