So one night after work, me and my co worker want to see who is faster. I was in smy 1998 honda civic dx (sohc) and he had his volvo with a stock turbo(rotary engined). So we both pull out and start at about 15 mph and we get going and then we floor it. (Manual tranny) I start shifting and I start going as fast as possible with my little honda. I start shifting to third and some guy in a friggin brand new midnight black mustang tries to friggin hit me off the road. So i fall behind the volovo real quick and let the ****er pass and keep going. (Im pissed) I start shifting like a mad man and flooring it. (Now let me admit my car isnt in  the best of conditions...it had been running rough.) So i start to shift and i hit third and  get going as fast as possible with my engine almost red lining. Im going about 65-70 in 4th gear and I my friend just floors it and takes off and im falling behind when we come to a light.

So we stop and the light goes green and off we go again and as im hitting 45- i shift to third and i let out the clutch while shifting and it makes that really bad miss shift sound when your gearss are grinding.  So i feel like my tranny is falling out. So i stop and take a look and nothing sounds bad...
So i take it into my friends shop and they tell me everything is going on it...I feel like **** because its my baby....

So I find out my car is dead but i could drive it about another week. So i take it to a toyota dealer and us it on a trade for my new toyota corolla ce.... I got a call from the dealer yesterday saying someone took it on a test drive and the tranny went bad and a shock cracked into the engine. (****er tried to drift it)

R.I.P. My poor honda! -cries-

Would you still have it if you didn't race it? I really care about my civic so I understand your sorrow, but if you knew it was in bad condition you shouldn't have pushed it. Either way, sorry it died. =/

You shouldn't have been racing turbo anything... anything includes geo metros, dirt bikes, and scooters.

that was the worst story i ever read. grammar is your friend. and if your shifting into 3rd and only going 45 in a race, learn to drive right. 2nd will go to about 60mph

lol, funny story.  not that your car died....the story as a whole.  like the rotary volvo, and the dealer calling you back and knowing someone was drifting your old car.

the dealer MIGHT (a big maybe) call you back after you trade a car in to tell you about something like a transmission failure.  but more than likely a new car dealer isn't going to keep an older car on the lot.  it is a 9 year old civic after all....not a vette.  they'll run it through a wholesale auction just to get their money out of it.

and how did they make a shock crack the motor? (i'm assuming you mean the block)

and i bet the said individual was severly disappointed when they figured out you can't drift a FWD car.

idk what redlines you're talking about... because if your shifted into 3rd at 45 miles an hour... that's at like 5,000 rpm.

2nd gear goes up to 60, 3rd goes up to 90 (roughly)  so you shouldn't have even been in 4th gear in a street race unless you're almost going 100 miles an hour, come on man
