Default Fastest Civic???

Straight to the point guys. I'm 17, getting a 'vic for my first car - what's the fastest model I can get away with on the insurance? Also what performance mods can I get away with. (UK mods plz!)

Maybe an Si but that would jack insurance up. A normal civic with a b16 swap should go undetected to the insurance company

Not in the UK, at least.... around here, they're about the cheapest thing you CAN drive.

Yeah for real. I was driving a buick park avenue 1992 (almsot guaranteed to be least expensive to insure) and when i got the civic my insurance went up 4 bucks a month. And it is the two door.

Any 99-00 Civic HB VTi should do fine They aren't _that_ expensive, and they aren't sleepers either. About mods.. Not sure what they accept or not in UK, but the regular I/H/E thingy should be ok if you don't go crazy on the exhaust.

If you either a) don't like the look of the HB, or b) just like the coupe better. Try getting a 99-00 Coupe Si

I'm sure you knew this already, but avoid the Type R I bumped into a 19-year-old driving an '02 model, paying out £4000 a year. Truly insane! But s*** happens and you're gonna get caned with insurance for a couple of years regardless of what you do.
